Soft Robotic Mobility Device

Health icon, disabled. A red heart with a cardiac rhythm running through it.

The purpose of this research is to develop an air pumping device that improves the mobility and effectiveness of a soft robotic medical device. This research was done by optimizing limiting factors such as weight, size, and air intake effectiveness for the medical devices. Using linear actuators and an air tank/plunger system, the air pump takes air in and feeds it into a device until necessary pressure is obtained and proceeds to deflate the device to start the next cycle.
