Real Time Visualization of Magnetic Field Lines for Educational Purposes

Education icon, disabled. A purple mortarboard.

Being able to detect and visually map the magnetic field lines would be of interest for both educational and industrial applications. These magnetic field lines describe the direction of the magnetic force and the magnitude of the force on ferromagnetic, diamagnetic, and paramagnetic objects. The detection and visualization of magnetic field lines is conceptual. The researcher aims to design and build education modules for SciHub’s recently developed magnetic field visualizer. Student exercises will include mapping of the magnetic field lines of both coils and permanent magnets of different shapes.
