Practical Collaborate Framework Using Aerial Vehicle for Improved Surveillance

Security icon, disabled. A blue padlock, locked.

This research aims to improve the perception range of a convoy of ground vehicles and overcome the problem of occlusion of objects due to blind spots created by other vehicles and the surrounding environment through the fusion of objects detected and transmitted from an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) flying above the ground vehicles. This approach employs a high-resolution camera mounted on the aerial vehicle and uses an advanced image processing algorithm to detect objects that are far away from the field of view of the ground vehicles and transmit the results to the ground vehicles using a radio transmitter. This project seeks to enhance the perception capabilities of ground vehicles by leveraging the Vehicle to Vehicle (V2V) communication technology that helps in enhancing surveillance and thereby increasing the security of the convoy.
