Organized Multi-Robot Movement with Application to Autonomous Cars

Security icon, disabled. A blue padlock, locked.

The motivation behind researching robotic coordination is to enhance the ability for robots to work together as a group to carry out tasks that require more work than a single robot can do on its own. Thus far, the researchers have increased each robot’s sensing capabilities and is developing an algorithm that uses distance sensors to uniquely identify neighboring robots. The enhances given can be applied to modern day cars and help avoid collisions while traveling. The future work that is done during this research will help cars move autonomously from one location to another without much human intervention.
