Optimization of Monocyte-Mimicking Nanoparticles for Precise Targeting of Endothelial Inflammation

Endothelial inflammation is a critical factor in the development of cardiovascular diseases (CVDs). Therapies that target endothelial inflammation represent a promising strategy for treating CVD. Our lab has established a monocyte-mimicking nanoparticle (MoNP) capable of actively targeting endothelial cells (ECs). To further improve the selective binding of MoNP to inflamed EC while avoiding healthy cells, this study aims to investigate the optimal condition to produce MoNP using the plasma membrane derived from cytokine-activated monocytes. The findings gained from this project could contribute to the development of a more efficient drug delivery vehicle for CVD treatment.
