Non-invasive Cellular Detection Using the Photoacoustic Effect
The photoacoustic effect occurs when a target absorbs a specific wavelength of light, resulting in thermal expansion and the production of subsequent pressure waves. This phenomenon can be used in a variety of biomedical applications with minimal impact on tissue samples. The objective of this work is to measure the photoacoustic effect from multiple cell types. This is significant because it establishes a method of non-invasive cellular detection.
