Nanostructered Pure Silica BEA Zeolite Membrane for Enhanced Li-ion Transport in Li-ion Batteries

Energy icon, disabled. An orange lightning bolt.

This study investigates whether BEA (Beta) zeolite membranes can enhance lithium-ion transport and improve the performance of lithium-ion batteries compared to conventional polypropylene separators. Results indicate that BEA membranes provide more uniform ion transport pathways, leading to improved ionic conductivity and enhanced safety by suppressing dendrite formation. These findings suggest a promising pathway toward longer-lasting and safer energy storage systems. Future work will focus on optimizing BEA synthesis and scalability for practical battery applications.
