Lensless Cameras: Simulation and Prototype Development

Security icon, disabled. A blue padlock, locked.

Lensless cameras are an emerging technology, which capture images without a lens. Our vision is to build low-cost lensless cameras, less than fifty-dollars with scotch-tape, as the optical element and to train it for machine learning reconstruction algorithms. We design and fabricate a lensless camera system prototype, and created a simulator for the optical blurring for such a system. Thus, we will generate a large dataset to perform deep learning for image reconstruction.
