Investigating the Stability Effects of Polyvinylpyrrolidone Additive on 2D Perovskite Solar Materials
Perovskite (PVK) semiconductor materials show great promise for solar windows due to their tunable transparency. Two-dimensional (2D) PVK are more stable than other types but still lack the stability desired for windows. This work aims to enhance the electrical and mechanical properties of PVK by incorporating Polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) into two different classes of 2D PVK—Ruddlesden-Popper (RP) and Dion-Jacobson (DJ) to improve film morphology. Mechanical, thermal, and illumination studies are used to further assess the stability of 2D PVK with PVP. Developing robust, semitransparent solar materials brings society closer to a renewable energy future.
