Electromagnetic Modeling of Inductors and Transformers using ANSYS

Energy icon, disabled. An orange lightning bolt.

This project focuses on developing precise models for inductors and transformers operating at high frequencies to better understand and analyze power losses to make these components more efficient at energy conversion. The research investigates the effects of parasitic factors, such as interwinding capacitance and core losses. With the help of simulation software ANSYS, impedances were extracted around resonance frequency. These results were compared against the experiment and model, which is in development, to help refine the model and verify its accuracy. Future work aims to simulate multi-turns per layer for models and larger gaps for real-life applications.
