Effective Bi Doping on CdTe Solar Cells

Energy icon, disabled. An orange lightning bolt.

Scientists have explored innovative approaches to cultivate various types of photovoltaics through the process of doping, including bismuth-doped Cadmium Telluride solar cells, which hold promising efficiency. This research initiates from Copper doping as a preliminary validation step. Once manufacturing and characterization methods are refined, Bi doping will be conducted with modified procedures. Then, the most significant phase of the study, characterization mechanisms such as Photoluminescence (PL), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), and Glow Discharge Optical Emission Spectroscopy (GDOES) progress. To conclude, after numbers of trials, a reliable protocol would be established and the impact of Bi-doped cells would be assessed.
