Dynamic Surafce Model

FURI Semiconductor Research theme icon

The objective of the research is to modify the surface roughness of the wall in the wind tunnel to study the effects of the boundary layer through particle image velocimetry. The dynamic surface has variable geometry allowing it to change surface patterns which in turn changes the surface roughness of the wind tunnel wall. Aspects such as turbulent and laminar flow can be analyzed. This is paramount for gaining insights into aerodynamic principles and facilitating improvements in computational models. The dynamic surface in the wind tunnel represents a significant advancement in testing methodologies in a faster and more cost-efficient way.
