DIW 3D Printing of Magnetic Self-Healing Hydrogels

This research explores the viability of Direct Ink Writing (DIW) 3D-Printing for creating self-healing hydrogel-based robots that can be controlled magnetically. The hydrogel is photoinitiated with a UV pen attached to the printer and retains its self-healing properties after printing. Using this technology, one can create versatile magnetic robots that can be assembled easily after printing through self healing. In the future, further tweaking the settings of the printer will be useful because currently the liquid nature of the hydrogel makes it difficult to print anything with detail.
