Development and Validation of a Custom Soft-Body FEA Simulator for Rapid Prototyping

Data icon, disabled. Four grey bars arranged like a vertical bar chart.

This study focuses on the development of a soft-bodied finite element analysis (FEA) simulator for the purpose of early phase prototyping. This simulator facilitates rapid generation of design concepts in the creation of miniature soft-bodied robots. An array of designs of varying complexity will be tested using the simulator, and the most promising models will be selected to be manufactured. The real-life counterpart will then be used to validate the data collected from the simulation.
