Current-Voltage Characteristics of Electrochromic Materials for Application on Smart Window Photovoltaic Cells
Throughout this semester, the researcher has prepared code with the programming tool, MATLAB, to produce current-voltage curves based on different formulas of inks. These inks will be applied to photovoltaic cells and play a role in how much time it takes for the window to transition from opaque to transparent and vice versa. The curves vary from ideal photovoltaic cell conditions with zero resistance to models with series resistance and shunt resistance. This research will impact the ink formulas used for maximum power production as well as benefit solar cell research with hopes of creating a more efficient future for next generations through smart windows.
