Assessing Technology Best Suited for Regenerative Medicine Biomanufacturing Biomonitoring
Regenerative medicine utilizes living cells to replace or repair damaged or diseased tissue, but the manufacturing process to get those cells is unlike typical manufacturing. Living cells are constantly changing and reacting to their environment, which in the case of cells isolated from their hosts, is completely unlike what they’re used to. Therefore special technology is required to assure that cellular products maintain the characteristics expected of them, while also maintaining sterility of the culture. This research aims to identify sensing technologies and evaluate their potential to monitor cell quality.
