An Investigation to Find and Characterize an Effective Catalyst for the Microbial Fuel Cell (MFC) Cathode That Maximize the Efficiency of Hydrogen Peroxide Production and Reduce its Decomposition Rate

Developing nations are facing severe clean water shortages due to a deficiency in effective wastewater treatment methods. Microbial electrochemical cell (MXC) technology can possibly deliver better freshwater security. MXCs devices convert the chemical energy in organic matter into electricity via metabolic processes of microorganisms. These processes produce useful products such as hydrogen and hydrogen peroxide. Cost effective catalysts that favor the processes are required. This study aims to find these catalyst. It is anticipated that the findings of this study will be incorporated in the large scale development MFC in the wastewater treatment industry.
