Adsorption Enhancement of Atmospheric Moisture Capture Using 3D-Printed TPMS Geometry

Sustainability icon, disabled. A green leaf.

Water systems vital for ecosystems and human sustenance are strained, with over half of global wetlands lost. Air, abundant and accessible, offers diverse utility beyond breathing, underscoring its potential for various applications. Absorption enhancement of atmospheric moisture using 3D printed TPMS (Triply Periodic Minimal Surface) geometry coated with desiccant will be one of the major steps towards resolving the present world problem of water scarcity. Designing high surface-to-volume ratio TPMS geometries with desiccant coatings offers potential insights into water adsorption from the atmosphere. With this experiment as base, the effect of ultrasound will be studied in future to enhance de-adsorption.
