A Systematic Survey of Event Camera Simulators for Neuromorphic Vision Research

Sustainability icon, disabled. A green leaf.

This research presents a systematic survey of event camera simulators — software tools that replicate the behavior of bio-inspired cameras detecting pixel-level brightness changes. Event cameras enable high-speed, low-latency vision for robotics and computer vision, but hardware limitations hinder experimentation. The research reviews and categorizes existing simulators based on realism, application focus, and dataset generation capabilities. By consolidating information from prior studies, the survey provides a unified reference that supports reproducible research and guides future development in neuromorphic vision systems.
