Zihan Zhang
Assistant Professor, School of Computing and Augmented Intelligence
Zihan Zhang is an Assistant Professor in the School of Computing and Augmented Intelligence at Arizona State University. Her research focuses on domain-informed system informatics and control to improve the quality and reliability of complex systems.
Zihan is actively recruiting Ph.D. students to join my group at Arizona State University, starting in Fall/Spring 2027. Applicants with backgrounds in engineering (e.g., mechanical or electrical engineering), computer science, mathematics, or related fields, along with strong programming skills, are encouraged to apply.
Current ASU undergraduate and graduate students, as well as remote research assistants, are also welcome to join the group.
Please refer to the openings page for application instructions and further details, and kindly review the information before reaching out.
Ready to mentor
My research focuses on data-driven and domain-informed methodologies for modeling, analysis, and control in complex systems.
Research topics include: generative AI for modeling, analysis, and control of high-dimensional data; physics- and domain-informed machine learning for interpretable system modeling; synthetic data generation and digital twin-enabled system evaluation. I am also interested in reliability analysis of stochastic systems and maintenance optimization for multi-unit complex systems.
