Zachariah Berkson
Assistant Professor, School for Engineering of Matter, Transport and Energy
Zach Berkson is an assistant professor of chemical engineering in the School for the Engineering of Matter, Transport and Energy in the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering at ASU. His research combines synthetic chemistry and advanced spectroscopic tools to understand surfaces and interfaces at the molecular level, engineer their properties and unlock new reactivities. His teaching interests include reaction engineering, kinetics, and challenges and solutions for sustainability.
Ready to mentor
The Berkson Lab at ASU focuses on cutting-edge research bridging chemical engineering, materials science, and inorganic chemistry. Current focus areas include understanding and designing functional interfaces of heterogeneous catalysts, nanostructured semiconductors, sorbents, and polymer-inorganic composites.
