Violet Syrotiuk

Violet Syrotiuk is an associate professor emerita in the School of Computing and Augmented Intelligence at Arizona State University, i.e., she is now retired. She studied complex engineered networks. One of her interests was medium access control (MAC) protocols for wireless networks and their implementation on programmable radio platforms. Another major interest was in dynamic optimization of the radio and/or network parameters to find the best configuration given the wireless network's operating environment. Her work was funded by NSF, DARPA, LANL, Raytheon, Raytheon BBN, General Dynamics, and DSTO (Australia). She served on the editorial boards of the journals Computer Networks (Elsevier) and Computer Communications (Elsevier), and on the technical program committees of major conferences sponsored by the IEEE and ACM.
