Sukjun Kim
Assistant Professor, Arizona State University
Sukjun Kim is an assistant professor in the School of Manufacturing Systems and Networks. He received his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering at Carnegie Mellon University in 2023, where his research focused on 3D-printed microrobotic systems. Then he worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the department of mechanical engineering at University of California San Diego until 2026, developing miniature soft robots for medical and industrial applications. At ASU, Sukjun aims to develop next generation of miniature robots through mechanical design, advanced manufacturing, and smart materials.
Ready to mentor
My research focuses on robot design, manufacturing, and smart materials. Particularly, I am interested in working with miniature soft robots that are safe and adaptive in medical and industrial applications.
