Jerry Gintz
Teaching Professor, School of Manufacturing Systems and Networks
Mr. Jerry Gintz is a Teaching Professor in the Manufacturing Engineering program in the School of Manufacturing Systems and Networks. He is a certified manufacturing engineer and an active member of the manufacturing & industrial automation community. His professional career spans over 40 years and includes many sectors of the manufacturing industry. He specializes in industrial automation and robotic systems integration.
Professor Gintz has dedicated his life’s work to developing structured educational programs to service the needs of engineering students through collaboration with the manufacturing community. He was awarded the title of Distinguished Faculty from the Society of Manufacturing Engineers for his impact in developing a dynamic SME student chapter at Arizona State University. He is also a faculty advisor for the Association for Advancing Automation where he is an active member of the educational committee.
Research focus areas:
- Establishing pathways to help reshore American manufacturing.

- Developing initiatives to support workforce development.
- Factory digitalization and development of the digital enterprise.
