Gennaro De Luca
Instructor, School of Computing and Augmented Intelligence
Gennaro De Luca, Ph.D. is a faculty member in computer science at Arizona State University and a member of ASU’s Quantum Collaborative. His research focuses on quantum machine learning (QML), particularly quantum generative models, with interests in their trainability, optimization, and applications. He mentored undergraduate students in the ASU SenSIP Center’s NSF-funded REU program for quantum machine learning in the summers of 2024, 2025, and 2026. He also mentors QML-focused projects through senior capstones and honors theses.
Ready to mentor
My research currently focuses on quantum computing, especially quantum machine learning (quantum generative models, quantum variational classifiers, etc.) and applications of classical AI to quantum computing.
