Douglas Cochran
Research Professor, School of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences
Douglas Cochran joined the the ASU faculty in 1989. He is currently a Research Professor in the School of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences and an Emeritus Professor in the School of Electrical, Computer and Energy Engineering. Before coming to ASU, he was a senior scientist at BBN Laboratories. Professor Cochran has served as program manager for mathematics in the U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency and the U.S. Air Force, as a consultant for the Australian Defense Science and Technology Organisation, as associate editor of the IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, and as general co-chair of the 1999 IEEE International Conference for Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing and the 1997 U.S.-Australia Workshop on Defense Signal Processing.
Professor Cochran is a member of the Barrett Honors faculty, and he was visiting faculty fellow at the Barrett Honors College in 2014-15. His research is in mathematical aspects of remote sensing, particularly for national security applications.
