Lithium-Ion Battery Degradation and State of Health Evaluation for Second-Life Applications
Demand and use of Lithium-Ion batteries have increased over time due to their application in electric vehicles and other clean energy technologies. Given the widespread use of Lithium-Ion batteries, enhancing their reusability and exploring second-life applications has become a major focus. In this research, the focus is on understanding how battery cycling, Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS), and capacity change at low temperatures. Open Circuit Voltage (OCV) and EIS testing are conducted on a commonly manufactured lithium-ion battery type, Nickel Manganese Cobalt (NMC), at different temperatures to identify degradation patterns and assess battery State of Health (SOH) for determining battery reusability.
